Welcome to Sociology! Important Instructions to Follow

Each week students can earn extra credit by posting links and files to our wiki that help us build content relevant to our topics. You can post links to videos, websites, reports, files, almost anything. Each contribution is worth 2 points for the week toward your final grade. Please write your name and section under your contribution.

For each item you contribute, please provide a citation of source that identifies the author or producer of the item, title and the date of the publication. You should follow the APA citation guidelines for websites, government sites, photographs and videos. See the EasyBib Guide.

Please follow the citation of source guidelines linked to the wiki Home page. Note, contributions made before October 11, 2012 may be missing citations. We are working on that. Please cite your sources.

Group homework presentations and shared items should be placed or linked to your assigned group page. Please contact Prof. Reed is you need help with the assignment.

Remember, this site is for educational purposes only, and for use by enrolled sociology students. Do not copy or redistribute any photograph or media from our collection. It is illegal to distribute or use the stuff for commercial or social networking purposes without permission or license, unless it is open source or creative commons.

Note: To embed a YouTube video or other video clip, click to the page where you want to place it. Hit the Edit button in the right hand corner. A box will open with the exposed content of the page. Create a line space on the page. Place your cursor to insert something. Hit the Widget button on the editor. You will see a list of items that can be placed in the space. Go to Other Html at the bottom and click. The instructions for embedding the video object will appear. You place the html code into the box that opens and it then appears on the page. I can show you how to do this in person if you get lost.
